Senate Caucus on International Narcotics Control to Hold Hearing on U.S. – Andean Security Cooperation
Will Examine American Counternarcotics Policy with Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia and Venezuela

Washington, DC – Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), Chairman of the Senate Caucus on International Narcotics Control, and Co-Chairman Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), will hold a hearing Wednesday, October 19 at 2:30 p.m. on U.S.- Andean Security Cooperation.
The hearing will focus on opportunities for increased U.S. counternarcotics cooperation with Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia and Venezuela. Among the topics discussed will be drug traffickers’ increased use of semi-submersible and fully-submersible submarines to transport cocaine from the Andean region to the United States. Members will also examine efforts to reduce narco-violence in Colombia over the past decade.
