States with prescription-only laws show decrease in meth labs
 

 

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), co-chairs of the Senate Caucus on International Narcotics Control, today released a bipartisan report entitled Preventing a Security Crisis in the Caribbean that provides recommendations for Congress and the Obama Administration to enhance current security efforts in the Caribbean.

Combats illegal border tunnels, smuggling
 

            WASHINGTON—Legislation introduced by U.S. Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) to combat illegal tunnel activity has passed both the House of Representatives and the Senate and now heads to President Obama for his signature.

WASHINGTON – Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), Chairman of the Senate Caucus on International Narcotics Control, and Co-Chairman Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), will hold a hearing Wednesday, May 16 at 2:30 p.m. on drug trafficking and U.S. efforts to counter emerging narcotics-related threats in West Africa.

Between 2007-2011 , 68.5 percent of recovered weapons were of U.S. origin;
more must be done to stop firearms trafficking to Mexico

 

Urges State Department to work with Afghan government to replace poppy with sustainable crops
 

WASHINGTON —Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), chairman of the Senate Caucus on International Narcotics Control, today urged Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton to support the Afghan government’s plan to replace poppy cultivation with other sustainable crops. This would be achieved by replicating successes in the Helmand Food Zone elsewhere in the country.
